Welcome to my Zen Place
Before I moved to Houston, my only city park experience in the US had been the finely managed and manicured grounds of NYC's Central Park. And although I still find Central Park to be my most favorite place there (High Line, you are a very close second...), I have come to really love my hometown park for its natural and unruly beauty.
Most importantly, it is the one place where all worries are forgotten and everything seems to start anew. My cherished 3-mile (well, technically 2.92-mile) daily runs there are something I always look forward to, be it 100F, or a stormy Houston day.
Today, I got weather-lucky and thought I might take a few pictures of the pretty skies and inspiring greens. Now, I am all ready to take on this week! Happy (almost) Monday!
A few months back, a co-worker of mine convinced me to join my company's Spartan Race team. He didn't talk it up much: he mentioned it's a long-ish run with a few fun obstacles. You know, no big deal. Something someone who runs as much as me should complete more than easily (read, you don't really need to train for it). Ha ha ha.
